Biography
Michael M. Williams received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the University of Miami and his Master of Fine Arts degree from The University of Texas at Austin, where he studied under Oscar Brockett and Richard Isackes. He has worked as a professional actor in South Florida as well as stage managed for various theatre companies. Mike was Technical Director for workshop productions of “Four Saints in Three Acts” and “The Balcony,” directed by Robert Wilson. He was also Facilities House Manager at the Coconut Grove Playhouse when it achieved State Theatre status. In addition, Mike stage managed for the Greater Miami Opera’s Summer Pops Series, served as Technical Director for the South Florida Shakespeare Festival, and has taught classes at the University of Miami, the University of Texas at Austin, Southwestern University, and Broward Community College.
Mr. Williams has designed nearly a hundred sets throughout his career. He is currently Resident Designer and Technical Director at Broward Community College. In his free time, Mike designs stage setting for professional theatre companies and conducts computer modeling seminars in South Florida and Texas.
